In the first week of term, we created our own time capsules. We put a piece of Maths and English work in it as well as some information about us and our interests. We also put a picture of ourselves in it. We have put them in this chest and we can't wait to open them at the end of the year to see how much we've changed and progressed!

In English, we are reading How to Train Your Dragon.

We have designed our own dragons and described them.

Our challenge in maths was to design Victor the Viking a new sail for his longboat.  We made our designs based on the fractions we were given.

As part of our topic work, we have learnt about Viking Gods.

In English we looked at features of advertising posters. we created our own posters for "The young heroes final initiation" from the book "How to train your Dragon"

In 'How to Train Your Dragon', Hiccup ended up inside a dragons mouth! Today we described how it must have been for Hiccup to be inside the mouth. To help us with our writing, we smelt and felt things like fish paste, tabasco sauce and jelly and used this to help us with our descriptions. we thought the jelly felt like its fleshy tongue and the tabasco smelt like his fiery breath. We also collaged the inside of a dragons mouth using different textures. Our work looks amazing on display!

What a morning we had this morning! We discovered a huge nest on the playground! when we came back into school, Mrs Clayton found a video from Mr Taylor that he'd taken this morning. The video told us what must have made the nest!

The Dragon's nest in the playground!

We had a Halloween party this afternoon! We carved pumpkins, made each other into toilet roll mummies and played 'what's in the box' where we had to feel lots of disgusting things to find the objects inside! Look at how much fun we had!
