Good morning everyone,
We have launched our new topic for this term which is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We began by doing a taste test, looking at using our senses to describe the snap of the chocolate, taste, smell, touch and the look of the bar. We have also designed and made our own chocolate bars already!
We will keep updating this page as we move through the term.
We have lot's of exciting things planned for the term ahead.
We will be continuing with PE on a Monday this term.
Mrs Hagues, Mrs Robinson and Mrs Owen-Smith
This term our topic is going to be "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory" We will be designing our own chocolate bar, including the packaging. We will be creating our own advert and pitch for the Chocolate bar. We will also be reading the famous book written by Roald Dahl.
In Literacy we will be looking at different types of language and creating arguments for and against. We will also be doing some drama linked to our topic, poetry and writing a follow on story.
We will be working on column addition, subtraction, multiplication using the grid method and division beginning to touch on the long division method. We will also be learning to tell the time on both analogue and digital clocks.
Can I design and pitch my own chocolate bar is the question for this topic. We will be using DT and Art to create and design the chocolate bar and the packaging. We will be using maths and Literacy skills to create a pitch to promote our chocolate bar to Mrs Keegan. We hope to use a range of IT to help support our pitch. This will be a great way to end the school year with a fun and exciting topic.

Check out our amazing art.
We have used acrylic paint to add texture to our volcanoes, experimenting with different strokes of the brush to build up the texture. We then used the wax crayons to create the lava effect by melting them with a hair dryer. This was great fun.
