Meet The Teacher

23rd  November 2020

Dear parents/carers,

I am writing to invite you to our virtual 'Meet the teacher' event.

As a school, we recognise the limitations COVID 19 has put on communication between home and school.  We usually invite parents and carers into school each term to speak with their child's teacher, share some of your pupil's best work and even involve you all in some fun learning activities!

Though this is not possible now, I really hope that we will have the opportunity to host some of these events and welcome you into the school later in the year!

We recognise that your child having a new teacher (and in many cases a new school) but not having the chance to meet with us face to face can be challenging.  Whilst we appreciate your phenomenal support during this time in working with us to ensure the pupil's transitions have been as smooth as possible, we feel it is crucial that you have an opportunity to meet your child's teacher 'face to face.' It is important that you have a chance to see and hear about how your child has been doing in their class so far this year and know their targets for the coming months.

We will therefore be offering virtual appointments during the W/C 7th December 2020.

If you can fill in the slip below to indicate a time preference and also confirm your email address, your child's class teacher will send you a zoom invitation and confirm the time of your appointment.  If you would like an appointment you must complete the slip and return it to school no later than Monday 30th November.

Each appointment will be ten minutes long and you will be asked to log in and wait in a virtual waiting room until your allocated slot.

If you are unable to make the day allocated, but would still like a virtual meeting with your child's class teacher, please indicate that on the slip below and the teacher will contact you to make arrangements.

As I am sure you can appreciate, the teachers are under a lot of pressure at this time so will only be able to allocate a ten minute slot to give a general update on the progress your child has made so far and discuss their targets for the year.  Therefore, if there are more specific things you wish to discuss or have any issues that you feel need addressing, I ask that you please contact the school office to arrange an additional appointment, either via the telephone or virtually.

Alternatively, you can always contact either myself or Miss Claypole should you have any concerns or queries.

We will also be updating the website with some of the learning and fun the pupils have had over the last term with a message from myself and the SLT so please keep your eyes peeled for that.

Yours sincerely

Mrs H Keegan
