Meet Our Management Team

A Message to Parents and Carers

In the uncertain times created by Coronavirus it is important that communities pull together and the Fortuna School Community is no exception. As a Senior Leadership Team we are clear in our commitment to support our pupils and their families as best we can with the additional challenges created by this pandemic.

We are here to help.

Miss Robson is the Executive Head in overall charge of the Fortuna/Athena Federation

I have worked with pupils with SEMH needs for almost thirty years after starting my career in a mainstream primary school.  I began working in Lincoln at Fortuna School in 2003 when it opened and have gone on to develop the Fortuna/Athena Federation in 2015.  I feel very lucky to be able to do the job I do and to work with the most amazing staff team and of course fantastic pupils.  I endeavour to give all pupils the opportunity to feel valued for who they are and give them the experiences and education to enable them to have choices of who they would like to be.

When you join the Fortuna/Athena Federation whatever your role, you become part of a huge family who offer care, support and love to all.

Mrs Keegan is our Head of School

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to visit our school website.  I have worked with pupils with SEMH for 17 years, both here and in mainstream settings.  I am passionate about providing all of our pupils with the very best opportunities and experiences that will support them throughout their lives.

We aim to achieve this by building positive and trusting relationships with our pupils and their families.  This enables us to work together to help the pupils to 'acknowledge the past, manage the present and work hard towards the future.'

I am exceptionally proud of our school and have been a part of the school's journey, in a number of different roles; beginning as a teaching assistant in 2007.  I have been Head of school since 2015 and I feel very lucky to be able to work alongside an amazing, dedicated and committed staff team. I believe our pupils, with the right support, can achieve anything they set their heart on. I look forward to continuing to work together to make a difference in the lives of our pupils in the future.  Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information about our school or if you would like to arrange a visit.

Mrs Keegan

Miss Claypole is Deputy Head Of School.

I have been working in education for 24 years. After working in Northamptonshire in a mainstream school for 7 years I moved to Lincolnshire and joined the Fortuna Family. Over the last 17 years I have been part of the journey and seen the school, staff and pupils go from strength to strength.

My role now enables me to work across the school supporting pupils and staff. A role I thoroughly enjoy. I love to see the children's achievements and share in their experiences as they gain more and more confidence and become independent learners, working towards the next steps in their school life.

Mr Chaplin is one of our two Assistant Heads.

Hello and welcome! I spent my first year as a teacher at a local mainstream primary school before moving to Fortuna in 2007. I became an Assistant Head in 2015.

My role is mainly focused around supporting pupils with their SEMH needs and involves working alongside our Special Needs Coordinator and Play Therapist as well as supporting classroom based staff. It is a truly gratifying role and getting to witness those 'growth moments' that children often have here at Fortuna is a real highlight of the job that will never get old.

Mrs Rollins is one of our two Assistant Heads.

Hello everyone! I'm Mrs Rollins one of the Assistant Heads here at Fortuna School. I have worked with SEMH pupils for 19 years. It is a real privilege to be part of the Fortuna/Athena Federation and I am incredibly lucky to be part of the fantastic work that happens in our school.

I originally began my life as a teacher at Fortuna, before spending several years working at our federated secondary school, Athena, before returning to Fortuna in 2019.

I spend half my week teaching my own class and then the other half of the week focusing on my Assistant Head role.  I oversee the training of new staff and support our Early Careers Teachers. I enjoy being around the school support staff and pupils in the classes as well as delivering training around nurture, attachment, and trauma.
