Fortuna's, Children in Need fundraising day will take place on Friday 17th November. Children in Need is a charity that provides grants to projects in the UK and abroad which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged.
For our Children in Need Assembly, we will be wearing something spotty or yellow.
On Friday 17th November children can come into school wearing something spotty or yellow if they wish to, that is suitable for school. If you would like to send a donation of £1 on the day, it would be much appreciated.
The children will also be taking part in The Pudsey Coin Challenge, aiming to cover a printout of Pudsey Bear to create a coin Mosaic. Children can bring in any small change
to participate in this event.
Dear Parent / Carer
SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS
As winter is approaching, I should like to inform you of the procedures regarding school closures for severe weather. We will always try to keep the school open, but occasionally this may not be possible.
If it snows overnight and we decide in the morning that the school will not be open:
I am sure you can appreciate that as we have so many children at the school we cannot inform all parents individually, but where possible we will text you on the current mobile phone number, we have for you on file. Therefore, please listen to the radio announcements or check the County Council website.
If it snows during the day and we feel that we need to send the children home early:
Please make sure that you can be contacted and that if you change your telephone or mobile number you let us know.
Obviously, Lincolnshire is a large county and we cannot always know what the weather is like where all the children live. We, therefore, understand that you may feel it would be unsafe for your child to travel to school because of the weather conditions; if this
happens please contact the school so that your child's absence can be authorised. Alternatively, you may feel that they need to come home early because conditions have deteriorated during the day; if this is the case you need to contact the school so that we can organise your child's transport to arrive early and we can get them home as soon as possible. As your child may have to spend longer in the taxi than usual or may want to play outside during the day at school, please ensure that they have a school sweatshirt and coat to keep them warm.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
H Keegan

Dear Parent/Carer,
CTuesday 13 th Jul
I am writing to inform you that the school will be maintaining existing Step-3 Covid-19 safety measures until the children break up for the summer holidays. This decision has been made to protect all members of our school community in the hope that we can reduce the likelihood of individuals having to self-isolate as the summer holiday commences.
When we resume school in September, the school will have moved to Step 4 in accordance with national guidance. This will mean:
All children will continue to be provided with a hot lunch.
From the 19th July, the NHS will be taking over school's track and trace responsibility. It is a legal requirement that the guidance provided is followed.
The guidance around keeping children at home when they show symptoms of Covid remain the same, with children staying at home until they have had a negative PCR test.
I would like to thank you for you continued support through the Covid pandemic and wish you all a safe and restful summer.
Yours faithfully
Headteacher

Dear parents/carers,
I am writing to inform you of some changes to lunchtime arrangements in the school, with effect from Monday 16th November.
As you are aware, the school feel it is very important that the pupils are encouraged to have a broad, balanced and varied diet, both at home and in school. For this reason, the school chef works very hard to provide a varied menu for the pupils. We recognise that not all pupils are going to like all meals so try to incorporate other elements to each meal. The daily meal that school offer consists of a main meal, side dishes, a dessert and daily offering of soup, bread and fruit.
As a result of the limitations presented by COVID 19, pupils, during the first term had a sandwich at lunchtime. These were temporary arrangements to allow time for the school to source the resources and meet the health and safety standards necessary, in order to enable the pupils to have a hot meal, in their classrooms.
Following feedback from both parents/carers and pupils, it has been brought to my attention that some pupils are understandably finding it difficult making the transition of going back to hot meals.
I have therefore decided that as from Monday 16th November, pupils will be informed of the hot meals available each day for the coming week. They will be allowed to swap a maximum of two out of the five weekly hot meals for a sandwich, where a choice of filling will be available and vegetable sticks.
I hope this goes some way to addressing some of the concerns raised in relation to some pupils not eating enough throughout the day, whilst still promoting the importance of a balanced diet and encouraging pupils to try a variety of foods. School will continue to provide breakfasts daily for all pupils as well as milk and fruit at snack time.
This will be in place until the end of this term, when I will review it again.
Please, if you have any concerns or queries about your child's eating, contact the school to discuss them with your child's class teacher.
I would like to thank you for your feedback and support in relation to this matter.
Yours sincerely
Mrs H Keegan
