Book Focus
This term we will be reading 'The true story of the 3 little pigs' by Jon Scieszka.
We began by looking at the traditional 3 little pigs story and used puppets to retell the story. Then we looked at the cover of our new story, we thought about what we could notice and what those made us wonder.
After reading the story we created our own alternative fairy tale story based on Jack and the Bean stalk. Once we had planned and edited our stories we typed them up and illustrated them. Don't they look great!
Next we learnt about limericks. We recapped our rhyming words and leant about syllables, practiced clapping, waving, stopping and jumping to count the number of syllables in a word.
