The Ladybird Project for Home Learners

The Ladybird Project

The Ladybird Project is a long standing project within school led by Play Therapist Di Hoyer to help support the children at Fortuna with their social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The sessions use story telling, group discussion and practical activities to help children reflect on different behaviours, form an understanding of how behaviours may present themselves in different ways and encourage pupils to develop appropriate strategies to help express thoughts and feelings.

Please find below the video for this weeks session with Di (Week commencing 01/03/21) on helping hands. You will need some paper and a pencil to draw around your hand with.

Coping with Uncertainty - A Letter from Di Hoyer

Home Learning

We consider the Ladybird Project to be an important part of the work we do to support children's SEMH needs at Fortuna. We have therefore created online resources that can be accessed by children learning from home that compliment some of the work they have previously done in school.

Therapeutic Stories to Read Together

Here are some stories you could read to your child to help them reflect on different feelings and emotions.

We will continue to add resources over the next few weeks, so please return to this space regularly.
